Another Local Fairbanks good ole' days ''kickin' Rocks!'' as Riesa Rose used to say.
This is in memory and dedication to Riesa Rose.
An Alaskan honky tonker musician original artist (...both in country and in the city music.)
She was always surrounded by artists and musicians
who played together as we do and for us a few summers, about 10 years ago, give or take was an epic of 'great and the best of memories'. We played music in an old army tent on Jones Road, Goldstream Valley, near Ivory Jacks, until we realized we were too loud and moved it inside. Shouting ... "Can't Stop the Music!!"
dozens of musicians passed through, local and travelling. Some touring through Alaska and 'outside', in the lower 48. Here is a start... I have many more artists to represent in such a community and it will take me a while to get them all up here, but I will do my best to represent.
We will be making a record of some Riesa Rose's songs. She had many bands and collaborations. The Hillbilly Mafia, a tour with the squatters temple, a musical play called 'out there honky tonkin', was written around some of her songs. More of her bio as soon as I can. On this page you will also find many other visitors OR locals that were all a part of this fairbanks 'scene'.
